Tamara Slupchynskyj is the owner of Core Pilates Studios. She has been practicing Pilates for 20 years and has trained with a renowned Pilates elder, Lolita San Miguel. Lolita San Miguel trained directly with Joseph Pilates and is one of only two students ever certified by him.
Tamara has worked with Breast Cancer Survivors, Hip and Knee Replacement patients (Strengthening prior to surgery and postoperative), has helped Multiple Sclerosis Clients with balance, body awareness, stress reduction, flexibility, and strength.
Tamara is also a Certified Golf Conditioning Specialist, she can help you hit the ball consistently farther and straighter, with reduced risk of injury and back pain. You will increase strength, stability, flexibility, control and significantly increase your club head speed.
Additional certifications include Certified CoreAlign® instructor, the CoreAlign is designed to improve posture, balance and functional movement. Basi Pilates Certification in Physical Therapy, the pilates approach to working with clients who have injuries, physical limitations, or movement dysfunctions.
Kristen LeClair is co-owner of Core Pilates Greenwich. She has been a fitness enthusiast her entire life and received her comprehensive certification through the BASI Pilates training program.
She began practicing the Pilates method over seven years ago and has been hooked ever since! Olympic athletes, actresses and models have sought after Kristen’s approach to help keep their bodies feeling, looking and performing their best.
Additional certifications are through The Kane School for Golf & Raquet Sports, Balanced Body to train on the contemporary Core Align equipment, BASI to train clients who have injuries, physical limitations, or movement dysfunctions as well as certification.
Kristen always looks to incorporate the Pilates technique of precision and flow while teaching, she enjoys making a personal connection with each of her clients.

Alexis (Lexy) Shelton
Since she was old enough to walk, Alexis spent her whole life involved in sports starting with gymnastics for 8 years and moving into elite levels of soccer, volleyball, and tennis through high school.
Her love and interest for fitness and health lingered and influenced her to stay in the gym. She competed in NPC bikini competitions where she learned the importance of symmetry in muscular stature in the judge’s eyes. The intense weight lifting caused her athletic build to become bulkier and thicker. Her mom introduced Alexis to Pilates and when she finally tried it and learned the practice she was hooked. She fell in love with the length she felt in her muscles and posture, the feeling of ease in her joints such as hip flexors and shoulders and support along her spine as opposed to soreness and pain.
Feeling the difference with each session she went on to get her certification through Core Pilates LLC where the theory of Joseph Pilates’ practice of control from the center made so much sense. She has been trained by master instructors Tamara Slupchynskyj and Marcia Baker Elizabeth Thompson. Alexis’ specializations include pre- and post-natal Pilates and Pilates for Golf.
She has dedicated the past few years teaching clients to control their bodies by connecting the mind to the deeper, stabilizing muscles for a more comfortable everyday life no matter where their journey takes them.
Suzanne O’Brien has been studying Pilates for the past 10 years. She realized that it improved all the things she loved to do… tennis, golf, hiking, skiing and all water sports. After years of being a pupil, Suzanne decided to seek certification. She is a certified Pilates Instructor, certified to teach the Core Align and is a Certified Golf and Tennis Conditioning Specialist (she can help you help you hit the ball consistently farther and straighter with reduced risk of injury and back pain. You will increase strength, stability, flexibility, control and sharpen focus. Increase your CLUB HEAD SPEED!!.)
Suzanne’s favorite part of the job is watching a persons body and mind transform, growing in strength, flexibility and balance.
Brienne received her Pilates certification through BASI training program and Bent Pilates studio, tutorage under master teacher Kim Kuznitz in New York City. She also holds a certification in Pre- and Post- Natal Pilates with Brigitte Arle. Brienne turned to Pilates as a teenager in search of a way to gain strength and stability in her body. She immediately appreciated the depth of the work, and it’s ability to identify and strengthen the weaknesses in her own body.
In addition to Pilates, Brienne has been a certified massage therapist since 2002, specializing in orthopedic massage and myofascial release therapy. As a Pilates instructor and a massage therapist, she has the rare ability to recognize body imbalances and assist cilents who are recovering from injury or need assistance as their bodies change with age.
Her passion to teach Pilates extends to continuing her education through participation in workshops and seminars on a regular basis. Brienne strongly believes that expanding her knowledge and continually honing her skills allows her to help her cilents be at their best.
Brittany Phillips’ professional health and fitness history has run the gamut, from dance and yoga to weightlifting and multiple sports. She believes that “working out should be a lifestyle and what we put in is what we will get in return… exercise is tough and challenging, but it should also be something that you love to do”.
After relocating from Los Angeles where she had previously worked as a Commercial and Print Talent Agent she decided it was time for a career change as well. After years of participation in many diverse disciplines, she found her nitch in the STOTT Pilates method and has never looked back! After quickly seeing her body and flexibility transform like no other workout she’d done before, Brittany knew that she had something that she wanted to share with others and became a Certified STOTT Pilates Instructor.
Her mission is to use the principles of Pilates to help students and clients of all levels to find strength, flexibility and a healthy body, all while inspiring overall wellness and a good sense of inner self.
Stefanie has been a student of Pilates for over 15 years. With a background in Tennis and Dance, she has found Pilates to be the perfect mix of both strength and conditioning and fluid movement and grace. Though born and raised in Greenwich, Stefanie actually began her career as an instructor in Croatia. Being of Croatian descent she lived and worked in Croatia for many years, working mainly with students of Dance. Working as an instructor both locally and abroad has given Stefanie a vast amount of experience and has given her the opportunity to gain a wide range of clientele, comprising of professional athletes, dancers, rehabilitation patients as well as Pilates enthusiasts like herself!
Stefanie is certified by the world renowned STOTT PILATES® method which integrates modern principles of exercise science and rehabilitation with the classical teachings of Joseph Pilates. With an emphasis on proper form, Stefanie’s classes will take clients through a progressive journey in which they will gain a better understanding of how their bodies work; helping them become leaner, stronger and reap all the benefits Pilates has to offer. STOTT PILATES® Specializations include: Prenatal Pilates, Pilates for Spinal Injuries, Pilates for Knee Injuries, and Pilates for Shoulder Girdle Injuries.
Sarah has combined a lifetime of fitness with the joy of teaching others for over eight years. As a native New Yorker, always looking for a challenge, she started as a personal trainer but was soon introduced to the world of Pilates. With her west coast certification from Pilates Sports Center and International Sports Sciences Association, she uses her caring, encouraging teaching style to help students improve their body awareness. She is impassioned by the endless discoveries she makes through Pilates. As well as all the new advancements she continuously gains on the many different journeys with her students.
Her continuing education certifications include Pre and Post Natal Pilates, Post C-section Rehabilitation, TRX, Kettle bell, as well as Kinesthetic Anatomy & Biomechanics of Motion. Sarah will strive to help you reach your goals and improve your physique, as well as your confidence. Whatever your goals may be Sarah will use her keen eye for movement and attention to detail to help you get there!
Yasmin grew up in New York City and has always been passionate about movement. Ever since High School Yasmin loved taking aerobic classes, swimming, track and cheerleading. Throughout adulthood, movement moved on to kickboxing and spinning. In her mid twenties, Yasmin injured her lower back, and that is what led her to the Pilates Method. The Pilates Method changed her life. It made her stronger and helped her to understand her body. From then, her spine has been injury free. She was so passionate about the Pilates Method that she decided to change careers. Instead of sitting at a desk for hours, she decided to become a Pilates Instructor. She first became Mat Certificated through Core Pilates NYC and soon after completed her Classical Pilates Comprehensive Certification, covering the “classical’ system or order of exercises while integrating most of the equipment with each session. She enjoys learning about Joseph Pilates “Contrology” and principles.
Yasmin continues her training and takes workshops from first and second generation Master instructors. She has traveled to many parts of the United States to train and become certified in special areas such as, Bella Bellies, prenatal/postnatal certification; Polestar Pilates, trained, a program that teaches how to work through chronic pain, rheumatology, injuries and athletes; and FAMI Certification, a program which provides a deep understanding of the anatomy and how to modified exercises post injury. Yasmin understands the task we place on our bodies everyday by sitting at our desk, working from our computer, or looking down at our phones. Her mission is to help you build total body strength and alignment so that you may have a strong and flexible spine.
